Bath Tips: Mount Hollow

Form transformed since switching yards at the end of 2010 and looks well capable of winning in this grade.

Mount Hollow has been a different horse since joining Reg Hollinshead at the end of 2010. His record over 6f when the going has been no worse than good is: 20113221572.

Even when he has underperformed, he’s had excuses. When finishing seventh at Doncaster he was only beaten 3 lengths, on a day when a strong pace bias was against him. Nothing could make up ground from off the pace that day and he ran well to get as close as he did.

Last year he was desperately unlucky when second at Bath in a similar race. He was beaten by 0.75 lengths but gave away at least 3 lengths stumbling out of the gates at the start.

If he breaks on level terms, he is the best horse in the field and can win the 3.20 Bath at 11/2 (BetVictor).
