Bath Tips: Kakapuka

Winner three starts back and had excuses since. Runs off a fair mark and successful when last seen over course and distance.

The quicker the ground the better for Kakapuka; he’s won twice on going described as ‘firm’ and shouldn’t be inconvenienced by fast ground at Bath this afternoon.

The majority of his form is over 7f but he won’t be inconvenienced by the drop in trip. He has plenty of pace and is a previous course and distance winner, albeit back in 2010.

Last time out at Yarmouth he fared best of the early pacesetters only being overhauled in the last 200 yards, therefore his performance deserves upgrading.

You only have to go back three starts to find his last win, which was in a higher grade. Racing off a 1lbs higher mark he looks well treated and at 11/2 (William Hill) he is also a shade overpriced.
