Bath Tips: Desert Command

Ran a fine race in defeat on his last start; clocking a very fast time for the grade. Should be even better as a four-year-old.

Soft ground has added a new complexion to the 3.00 Bath but I think class will out in the form of Desert Command.

Andrew Balding’s sprinter ran a superb race at Lingfield last October, finishing a short head behind Oh So Sassy but clocking a fast time and pulling four lengths clear of the third horse.

That performance marked him out as a 90+ sprinter in my book and with age on his side he could be even better.

Equally effective over 6f, today’s trip should be fine and I’m not concerned about the going either; he finished a close second at Epsom on slow ground.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the clock-watchers pile into this horse and at 7/4 (Betfred) he is a fair price.
