Bath Tip: My Meteor
Handles track and won on his last visit to Bath.
The 4.50 at Bath is a poor race and isn’t one to dwell on for long. My Meteor is comfortably the best choice and a surprise that he isn’t even money.
Most of these horses are perennial losers and badly out of form. Or they might be in form and just not very good. Either way My Meteor should have the beating of them. Lightly raced, Tony Newcombe’s gelding is on his third visit to Bath having never finished outside the top two.
Last time out he won over course and distance and looked value for more than the winning margin. Always travelling well, Dane O’Neill never had to get serious with the horse. A couple of slaps with the whip was enough to see him home.
Racing off such a lowly mark there is plenty of scope for improvement.
