Bath Tip: Diapason

Towards the end of a long hard season, horses campaigned for an Autumn campaign are often fresher and better than those who have been on the go for several months. Diapason is one such horse, having only her third start since May.

Last time out she pulled very hard in a slowly run race. She needs an end-to-end gallop to be at her best and she should get that at Bath today. Most effective over six furlongs, she was an unlucky loser over the distance two runs ago. Boxed in on the rail, she had no room to make her run, staying on far too late when the gap eventually arrived.

Although she is without a win for well over a year, she has dropped to a handy mark. She looks in form and should go well in a weak looking race.
