Houston Open Tips: Josh Teater
Enjoying his best year on tour due to the improvement in his putting. Has two top-20 finishes at Redstone.
Josh Teater has enjoyed a superb start to the season and I expect it to continue at the Houston Open this week.
In three starts at Redstone he has two top-20 finishes but he’s a better golfer than he was back then.
The big transformation has been in his putting. In his first three years on tour, he ranked no better than 132nd for strokes gained putting, this season he is 33rd.
The rest of his game has always been solid but now he can putt, his results have improved. He has two top-6 finishes already this season and bounced back from a poor opening round at Bay Hill to finish T27.
On a course he likes, he looks a cracking bet at 125/1, especially with Paddy Power paying an extra place, with ¼ odds for a top-6 finish.
