Houston Open Tips: Luke List

Houston Open Tips: Luke List

Finished T27 last year and rounding back into form. 16th in the tour’s all-around ranking.

Luke List is a difficult player to assess because statistically there is plenty to like. He is 16th in the PGA Tour’s all-around ranking, 23rd in adjusted scoring average and 21st in strokes gained tee to green. He is incredibly long off the tee and finished T27 in Houston last year.

These numbers were fuelled by a hot start to the wraparound season but after a quiet 2017 he is beginning to recapture that form again. In his last four starts he’s finished 52-27-17-37 and crucially his putting has shown signs of improvement.

The flat stick is his Achilles’s heel but he gained strokes on the field at Bay Hill and the Houston Open has been won by some less than stellar putters. It’s hard to win on ball-striking alone but one day it will all come good and List will breakthrough and win. Back him at 100/1 with Sky Bet and get 1/4 odds for a top-6 finish.
