Houston Open Tips: Jimmy Walker

Has regained his form with three top-15s in last five starts and results at Houston steadily improving.

It is slightly surprising that Jimmy Walker has not done better at the Houston Open over the years because it is a course that should suit in theory. Walker went to college at Baylor University, Texas so this is something of a home game for him. Having said that his results are improving and on his last five visits he’s finished 73-30-71-50-24.

The 37-year-old is traditionally a player to follow early in the season and although we are moving out of his preferred period it’s taken a while for him to regain his form after losing the plot in the second half of last season.

In his last five stroke-play events, Walker has finished T4-T11-MC-T43-6 and missed a good opportunity at Torrey Pines in the wind.

A regular winner on tour, he’s slightly over-priced at 40/1 (Skybet) with 1/4 odds for a top-6 finish.
