Golf Outsider: Open de France 2013

www.titleist.co.uk

Last week our longshots expert highlighted Irish Open runner-up Robert Rock at 125/1 and he has two big price selections for the upcoming Open de France.

A strong field has assembled in Paris with Martin Kaymer, Luke Donald and Matt Kuchar all looking to hone their games in advance of the Open Championship. However, we have avoided the big names in the hunt for value.

Open de France Selections

Fit and healthy again after a serious back injury, Seve Benson is starting to make some progress on tour. Since the start of May he has finished T7-T5-T37-MC-3-T46-T42.

Although some of those events were co-sanctioned with the Challenge Tour he is consistently making the weekend on the main tour. An excellent player from tee to green he could be suited to the testing layout.

Anders Hansen only just fits into the ‘outsiders’ category but given his course record he cannot be left off my shortlist. Since the turn of the century, his record at Le Golf National is 15-3-57-40-8-6-MC-MC-4-26-30-11.

Remarkably, the Dane has finished in the top-15 six times in his last twelve starts. The course is a perfect fit for his game but his price is too big.
