Northern Trust Open Tips: Padraig Harrington
T9 at the Phoenix Open confirmed his return to form after a couple of years in the wilderness. Two top-10s here in 07 & 08.
After a couple of difficult years spent tinkering with his swing, Padraig Harrington is returning to the sort of form that won him three majors. He finished T9 at the Phoenix Open with an eye-catching display but if you look at his results in 2012 it shouldn’t have come as a shock.
The 41-year-old finished no worse than T39 in the four majors last year and broke into the top-ten at the Masters and US Open. Worldwide he is without a victory since 2010 but I don’t expect the drought to last beyond 2013.
Harrington has enjoyed good results at Riviera CC in the past, with top-ten finishes in 2007 & 2008. This makes him a good each-way bet at 55/1 (Bet365) with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
