Northern Trust Open Tips: Rory Sabbatini
Playing well again now that he is over his injuries. Has five top-25s this season and won this event in 2006.
Rory Sabbatini might not be the most popular man on tour but the combative South African has been the punter’s friend on more than one occasion.
Six wins in 413 PGA Tour starts is a decent return but he is often underrated by the layers.
The 38-year-old battled with injury for much of 2014 but he is healthy again and that is translating into good golf.
Sabbatini has five top-25 finishes in eight starts this season and ranks an impressive 20th in adjusted scoring average.
Tee-to-green his game is in excellent shape and Riviera is a course where he’s enjoyed success before. He won the event in 2006 and has three further top-10 finishes.
I wouldn’t be put off by a missed cut last week, he was 4-under for his three rounds and at 150/1 (Stan James) there is plenty of each-way value.
