Honda Classic Tips: Charl Schwartzel

On a run of seven consecutive top-5 finishes in strokeplay tournaments. Finished T5 here last year.

Charl Schwartzel is playing just about the best golf of his life and at 14/1 (Betfred) he can’t go unbacked. He has finished in the top-five in his last seven stroke play starts and finished T5 at the Honda Classic last year.

I wouldn’t pay too much attention to his first round defeat in the WGC Match Play last week, instead a better guide to his form is his T3 finish at the Northern Trust Open. It was a tournament he really should have won but he couldn’t buy a putt on the back nine.

Schwartzel currently leads the tour in adjusted scoring average and although statistics are often misleading this early in the season, he is playing well enough to win any tournament he enters. At 14/1 (Betfred) he looks a rock solid each-way bet with ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
