Tuesday Treble

It's a midweek mixed bag of fixtures. There should be wins for Everton, Forest and Derby.

An FA Cup 5th round home win for Everton over Reading combined with Championship triumphs for Derby and Forest on Tuesday night could be a nice little earner at 6.89/1 with Boylesports.

Anything other than a 90 minute success for Everton would be shocking following the dumping out of holders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the previous round. It’s the sort of ‘banana skin’ fixture that Premier League sides are generally relieved to play at home. After six games unbeaten at Goodison Park, Everton should be able to overcome a mid-table Championship side’s resistance.

Nott’m Forest travel to Middlesbrough to play their game in hand on their promotion rivals knowing that three points will keep them hot on the heels of the top two. Billy Davies will still be annoyed by recent slip-ups against Preston and Scunthorpe and will be keen to make amends against Boro. The Riversiders won’t be relishing that prospect after conceding seven goals in their last two home games. The 22 points separating the two sides tells you that Forest should get their promotion charge back on track here.

Derby, on the surface, look like the weak link in this treble punt. Their home form has been poor but the 1-0 win at Sheffield United on Saturday could be a turning point. Furthermore, they host a Doncaster Rovers side decimated by injuries and with just one league success to their name in 11 attempts. Nigel Clough’s side have won seven times this season against teams in the bottom six and I back them to repeat the trick on Tuesday.
