Derby v Leicester Preview

Ranieri will be looking for a reaction after the Southampton debacle and his team have delivered in the cups this season.

It seems strange to write it but Derby were favourites to beat Champions Leicester on Friday in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Not many places separate the sides on the league ladder but there is still a gulf in class between the Premier League and Championship.

There is a danger that Claudio Ranieri rotates his squad for this game but the same applies to Steve McLaren and there is no question that Leicester have the strength in depth.

Ranieri will also be looking for a reaction from his players after a listless display against Southampton and his team have delivered in the cups this season. Along with an excellent run in the Champions League, Leicester have shown up well in the EFL Cup and FA Cup this season – perhaps they just want to win a different bit of silverware!

I think home advantage has been overplayed, despite Leicester’s dreadful away record and the Premier League champions are the value at 17/10.
