Liverpool v Everton: Scoreline Tip

Jelavic in rich vain of form

A closer look at Everton results in 2012 makes a correct score punt look good value.

For an extra half point we can look at the correct score market for further value in this first FA Cup semi-final. Having already made the case for Everton, I think we can narrow down the manner in which they may be successful.

When the Toffees win, more often than not they do so with a clean sheet. Remarkably, all eight of their victories since 31 January have been to nil. And five of those games ended 2-0. At best odds of 18/1 with BetVictor, I’ll stick my neck out and suggest they can do it again at Wembley.

Everton have beaten some decent sides by this scoreline recently. Chelsea at Goodison Park, then Swansea and Sunderland in away matches at the end of March. With Jelavic and Anichebe in rich scoring form, David Moyes has strikers who are raring to go.

Although this should be a close contest, the Blues will surely get further opportunites if they get their noses in front as Liverpool pile forward. An inspired counter-attacking performance could provide delight for the underdogs while potentially paying us off at long odds.
