Wolverhampton Tips: Welcome Approach

Has a tremendous record over course and distance (6-20) and recent poor form is no indication of future performance.

There is the old adage in betting that you never want to let a longshot go unbacked and I’m sticking with that logic in the 1.20 at Wolverhampton.

Welcome Approach has shown very little on his last two races but I cannot let a horse with a course and distance record of 6 wins from 20 starts go unbacked at odds of 20/1 (Betfred).

His record over six furlongs at Wolverhampton is: 15145926112536119688.

He is liable to win, or come nowhere. He is just the type of horse who has good and bad days; both of which are impossible to predict. Although infuriating to watch, from a punting perspective he is excellent value with the SP of those six wins ranging from 4/1 to 16/1.

His last two performances were poor but he won at Bath three runs ago, so the ability still remains. He is well drawn in stall two and has plenty of pace to aim at. He might come nearer last than first, but you can’t let him go unbacked at 20/1 (Betfred) just in case it is one of his going days.
