Wolverhampton Tips: Time Medicean
Young apprentice jockey gets on well with the horse and a strong gallop could set the race up for him.
Time Medicean might not be well treated at the weights but the way the 5.20 Wolverhampton unfolds is much more important. With the likes of Last Sovereign, Dickie’s Lad and Lesley’s Choice in the field, it should be run at a furious gallop and if the pace collapses then he can pick up the pieces.
His recent second place at Bath deserves upgrading as it was run on soft ground, when his best form is on a faster surface.
Raul Da Silva takes the ride and he is an attractive jockey booking. The young Brazilian rides Wolverhampton particularly well and has a 16% strike rate when teaming up with Tony Carroll. His record on the horse is also impressive, with finishes of: 1257132. At best odds of 8/1 (Bet365) he looks like the value in the field.
