Wolverhampton Tips: Salvado
At Kempton, he showed up well for a long way before the strong gallop and the mile trip emptied the tank.
The 4.10 Wolverhampton is basement fair but it is still a worthy betting heat with Salvado underrated by the market.
Last time out a combination of trip and a breakneck gallop ruined his chances. Salvado dulled with Ferryview Place and tired rapidly in the final 2f, in a race that had an average finishing speed of 95.5%.
A strongly run mile was never going to suit a horse who has been largely campaigned as a sprinter and his last victory was at 6f.
Salvado has been well beaten in all six starts for Tony Carroll but his last couple of performances have hinted at some latent ability. He races off a career low mark and is 11lbs lower than when last successful at Dundalk.
