Wolverhampton Tips: Rebel Lightning
Showed inexperience on debut but ran fastest closing sectional despite being hampered in home straight.
For the first couple of furlong of his debut it didn’t look Rebel Lightning wanted to be a racehorse. He was slowly into stride and was soon detached last when not responding to his jockey’s urgings.
He showed considerable greenness on debut but in the second half of the race he knuckled down to business, running the fastest closing sectional of the contest.
Rebel Lighting was eventually only beaten a length despite having his path blocked when making a bold move up the rail.
The colt should improve for the experience and the step up in trip and is a worthy 5/2 (Bet365) favourite for the 6.20 Wolverhampton.
