Wolverhampton Tips: Pavers Star
Front-runner who could get a soft lead and better value than the favourite, who hasn’t won since 2010.
The 2.30 Wolverhampton is a poor race and it’s a case of trying to find a horse to oppose the favourite.
Fathom Five hasn’t won since April 2010 and although he’s dropped a long way down the handicap since, 2/1 does not appeal.
It’s a struggle to find anything that will beat him but on a going day Pavers Star has enough ability to win.
The 4-year-old has placed on his last two starts over course and distance and given an uncontested lead he’s difficult to peg pack.
From stall 3 he should get to the front without any problems and if his jockey judges the fractions right he can win at 7/1 (Betfred).
