Wolverhampton Tips: Overwhelm

The change of tactics has seen her finish races much more strongly.

It is heartening to see all-weather racing living up to its name with a full card scheduled at Wolverhampton. Particularly pleasing as there is a great value bet in the first race at 2.20.

Recently, a change of tactics combined with a drop in grade has worked wonders for Overwhelm , and having found the key to her success, connections should get a victory out of their four-year-old here.

Previously a one-dimensional front-runner, Jim Crowley restrained the filly at Lingfield, enabling her to finish the race much more strongly. She finished 1.75 lengths behind the in-form Chjimes and would have been closer if not forced to race against the unfavoured far rail.

At Wolverhampton she races off a career low mark of 57, in the easiest contest she has ever faced. Although the draw hasn’t been kind, her new tactical versatility should more than make up for it. Trainer Andrew Reid has a terrific 18% strike rate at the track and at 15/2 (William Hill) he can bag another winner.
