Wolverhampton Tips: Novellen Lad
Better than the bare form after struggling to find firm ground all season. Previous AW winner.
With the chances of finding firm ground all but gone for the year, the polytrack represents the only option for some horses.
On turf, all of Novellen Lad’s wins have come on good to firm going; unfortunately these are conditions he’s encountered only once this season. It therefore makes sense for connections to campaign him on the all-weather, especially as he’s won on it before.
On his last start he was only beaten 4 lengths in a class 3 handicap on ground that would have been too soft. He travelled well through his race and wasn’t knocked about after he suffered interference.
Dropping down in grade for the 4.00 Wolverhampton, he has an excellent chance at 6/1 (William Hill) on a surface that should suit.
