Wolverhampton Tips: Matilda Gleam
Starting to show glimpses of ability on the all-weather and ran on nicely from a poor draw last time.
Having barely beaten a horse home on her first two starts Matilda Gleam has hinted at some ability on the all-weather.
She was beaten 6.75 lengths in an average maiden back in October and improved on that display when finishing 2.75 lengths behind the winner on her last start at Wolverhampton.
Held-up in rear from a wide draw, she was left with too much ground to make up but under a sympathetic ride she notched the second fastest closing sectional.
She still exhibits inexperience, often racing keenly regardless of the pace but as she gets older she should settle down.
Royal Display is another interesting runner down in trip but the price has gone and there is a good chance Kevin Ryan’s front-runner sets it up for Matilda Gleam to swoop late and win at 8/1 (Betfred).
