Wolverhampton Tips: Logans Lad
Finished third in a peculiar race where the ‘tearaway’ leader actually ran an evenly paced race and the chasing pack got it wrong.
Logans Lad seemingly has plenty on his plate trying to win a class 4 handicap for the first time but he offered encouragement on his last start in this grade.
Thirteen days ago he was only beaten 1.5 lengths over course and distance in a peculiar race.
The pack ignored the ‘tearaway’ leader Clockmaker but he actually clocked almost perfect sectionals through the race and was lucky to be caught in the shadow of the post.
It was actually the pack who ran most inefficiently and Logans Lad was won of the biggest victims racing in rear and recording a finishing speed of 106.3%, much quicker than par.
Logans Lad ended up running a rapid 22.98 closing 2f split, the fastest in the race and was disadvantaged by the pack not setting a strong enough pace.
He earned an adjusted speed rating of 77, which gives him plenty in hand off a mark of 73. He might not be good enough to win in this grade but he is worth the risk and it is hoped if he doesn’t win he doesn’t show his hand either.
