Wolverhampton Tips: Fair Passion

Undone by a steady gallop on her last start. Several front-runners in the field will ensure the race is run to suit this time.

With Crimea and Spic’N’Span in the race, the 3.40 Wolverhampton should be run at a decent gallop. This should suit the hold-up horses, especially Fair Passion.

Last time at Kempton, she was undone by the sluggish pace. Royal Bajan enjoyed a soft lead and was able to amble round in front. Fair Passion was the only horse to make any progress from off the pace and ran well given the circumstances.

Many of her rivals in this claimer find themselves struggling for form, but Fair Passion was beaten a short-head in a class 4 handicap on her last visit to the track. With limited opportunities on the all-weather, trainer Derek Shaw is probably trying to get a win wherever he can.

At 9/1 (Stan James) there is a very good chance he scores with Fair Passion.
