Wolverhampton Horse Racing Tips: Dorback

A win last time out showed he might finally be over his injury problems. He was a talented juvenile.

The 4.40 at Wolverhampton looks a strong handicap for the grade but now that Dorback has regained the winning thread, he looks a horse to keep on side.

Rated 95 as a juvenile, injury has rather hampered his progress and he eventually left Henry Candy in September. It has taken his new trainer Noel Wilson a few months to get to grips with his purchase but nine days ago he finally got a win out of the horse.

He settled well after been positioned in midfield and showed a blistering turn of foot to win the race in the home straight. The time wasn’t spectacular but the early gallop was only moderate. Nevertheless, Dorback still earned his best speed rating since April 2010.

The signs are that he is over his troubles and getting back to his best. Jockey Barry McHugh said after his last victory that he can win again, and racing off a mark still 14lbs below his peak, he looks a good bet at 7/1 with Betfred.
