Wolverhampton Tips: Da’ Quonde

Won two of her last three starts and look very well handicapped.

Low-grade all-weather sprints tend to have the same cast list race after race but in the 8.30 Wolverhampton we have a new name who could quickly move through the handicapping ranks.

On only her sixth start Da’ Quonde demolished her rivals by 2.25 lengths over this course and distance. It was only her second run at the minimum trip and it seemed to suit her. Stalking a fast pace, she showed a tremendous turn of foot to win the race in a quick time for the grade.

She has gone up 6lbs for that win but is still rated a lowly 57 and looks very well handicapped. Trainer Bryan Smart says she works like a 70-rated horse at home and it looks like she is fulfilling that potential on the track. At 7/2 (Betfred) she could be far better than the rest.
