Wolverhampton Tips: Canadian Danehill

Admirable sprinter over the years who retains enough ability to win at this lower level.

The 4.30 Wolverhampton isn’t the strongest looking race but it should be run at a fierce gallop with several front-runners in the line-up.

The field looks thoroughly exposed and therefore I’m not afraid to side with the ten-year-old Canadian Danehill. He is not as good as he used to be, but there is plenty of enthusiasm left. He won twice at this level in February, including over course and distance.

He has become hard to predict as the advancing years make him less consistent, but he will enjoy the strong pace in today’s race. He has been given a little break and the eye-shields have been removed. I hope that this can freshen him up, because he is still good enough to win a race of this calibre, especially at 12/1 (Ladbrokes).
