Wolverhampton Tips: Blown It

His record in class 6 handicaps is 112213 if you ignore his first three starts for the yard.

A capacity field is declared for the 2.55 Wolverhampton and it should be run at a fair gallop with several front-runners in the field.

The race should set-up for a horse to win from just off the pace, and although Blown It is a tricky ride, he is capable at this level. If you ignore his first three starts for Keith Dalgleish, his record in class 6 handicaps is 112213.

The majority of his winning form is over 5f but I think a strong gallop, rather than the distance, is key to the horse. He just happens to have a better record over the minimum trip, because they go a stronger gallop over the shorter distance.

Apart from a couple of duff performances in the autumn when the yard was out form, Blown It has been consistent on the all-weather. He was outclassed in a good claimer last time out, but ran near to his best in fifth place.

From a good draw in stall 2, expect Joe Fanning to stalk the leaders and hope the pace collapses in the home straight allowing his mount to stay on for the victory at 14/1 (Paddy Power).
