Wolverhampton Tips: Bang Tidy
Hinted at ability this season, well drawn and should improve for step up in trip.
There has been a big move for Menelik overnight in the 5.45 Wolverhampton. From a high of 12/1, he’s no bigger than 2/1 but I can’t understand the gamble. This is his first run in 358 days, he’s got a wide draw, and wasn’t exactly pulling up trees in his juvenile days.
With the favourite accounted for, I’m going to take a flyer on Bang Tidy at 33/1 (BetVictor).
In three starts this season he’s hinted at some ability and in a class 6 handicap that’s sometimes all you need to win. Two starts ago he finished upsides Gran Canaria Queen, despite racing too freely. That horse has since run well at Wolverhampton, winning her last start. They re-oppose today but Bang Tidy has a superior draw and a small pull at the weights.
Having his seventh start, it is reasonable to assume there is improvement to come. He also steps up in trip, a sensible move as he looks short of pace at 5f. On a straight form-line with Gran Canaria Queen he is overpriced and in a weak looking race he’s worth a chance at 33/1 (BetVictor).
