Wolverhampton Tips: Avonvalley
Finished second on her last two starts over a trip that stretches her stamina. Returns to her optimal 5f tonight.
Peter Grayson doesn’t have many winners with his moderate string of animals but he has an excellent chance in the 7.25 Wolverhampton with Avonvalley. Looking for her fourth win in 2012, she is by far his most consistent horse.
In good form having finished second on her last two starts, her performances need upgrading as they were over 6f, a trip that stretches her stamina. Six of her seven career wins have been at 5f, this distance she races at tonight.
At her best coming off a strong pace, she should get the race run to suit. Drawn in stall 1, hopefully she can nip up the inside and pounce as the leaders tire. At 13/2 (William Hill) she is the value in the race.
