Wolverhampton Races Tips: Avonvalley

Avonvalley has looked unlucky on her last two starts and should be too strong for her rivals in the 4.55 at Wolverhampton.

Trainer Peter Grayson has endured a miserable couple of years with barely a win to his name. A dispiriting decline for a stable that showed so much promise in its early years. In the last few months, there have been signs of a revival. Four winners in five months might sound like meagre pickings but it is a veritable feast compared to what went before.

One of the stronger horses in the yard is Avonvalley. She was desperately unlucky at Kempton 9 days ago when badly hampered on the rail. Travelling better than anything around her, there is a good chance she would have won that race.

Previously she finished third at Nottingham, again looking unlucky. She was first home of those racing down the stand’s side and the only horse in the top seven who started from a double-digit draw.
