Wolverhampton Tips: Alben Star
Finished fourth on Wednesday in one of the best sprints ever held on the all-weather. Repeat of that performance should see him win.
It has been a quick turnaround for Alben Star but if he is feeling no ill effects from his run on Wednesday then he is a worthy favourite for the 4.50 Wolverhampton.
Richard Fahey’s five-year-old only started his season in November but he’s quickly recaptured his old form, running well over an inadequate 5f before finishing fourth in perhaps one of the best sprints every staged on the all-weather.
Tarooq lowered Lingfield’s 6f course record by 0.67s, with Alben Star only 2.25 lengths back in fourth. There were six horses rated 100 or more in the contest, which proves what a strong race it was.
A switch to Wolverhampton might suit Alben Star even better; with a course and distance record of 121 he will be difficult to beat.
