Wolverhampton Tips: Tango Sky

Has run well in a much higher grade over course and distance and this is a very weak race.

The 2.50 Wolverhampton is a straight match between the top two in the betting with the rest of the field easily ignored.

Spic’N’Span is out of form and his yard are struggling for winners, Desert Icon is a habitual slow starter whilst Dubai Rhythm and Hawsies Dream just aren’t very good.

This leaves the front two in the market and the bookmakers have got them the wrong way round. The favourite Dark Lane is a six furlong specialist, only one of his nine career victories has come at the minimum trip.

Both Tango Sky’s wins have come at 5f and he will be much more comfortable at the distance. During the winter, he wasn’t beaten far in class 3 and class 4 handicaps over course and distance whereas today’s race is probably the weakest opposition he has ever faced.

Trainer Dandy Nicholls has a 25% strike rate in claimers and Tango Sky should really be favourite for the race not 9/4 (Bet365).
