Wolverhampton: Gran Canaria Queen

Earned good speed ratings for the grade on her last two starts and has the ideal draw.

From the plum draw in stall 1, Gran Canaria Queen should be able to break her duck in the 8.50 Wolverhampton.

On her last two starts, she has earned a speed rating from me a couple of lengths better than anything else in the field. A month ago, she finished 1.5 lengths behind Imperial Legend who has won again since and she proved that was no fluke by finishing 4th on Monday at Ayr.

With three slow starters drawn on her outside I’d be very surprised if she was unable to race in the perfect position; tracking what should be a moderate gallop. She’s previously run well over course and distance and looks the one to beat at 13/2 (William Hill)
