Wolverhampton: Blanc De Chine

Tactics will be crucial in a race packed with front-runners. She is one of the few horses capable of winning from off the pace.

The 6.25 Wolverhampton is a bizarre race as it brings together pretty much every front-runner on the all-weather circuit!

If you look at the comments in-running for each horse they all say ‘led’ or ‘made-all’. It is very likely the front-runners take each other on and go too quick, setting the race up for a closer.

The only horse who looks capable of winning from off the pace is Blanc De Chine.

She is also a horse who prefers to blast off in front but at Goodwood last year she won after being held-up and on her last start at Wolverhampton she managed to ignore the tearaway leader Powerful Wind and stick to her own gallop.

Unbeaten in two starts over course and distance, she could pick up the pieces if the pacesetters ruin their race. At 5/1 (William Hill) she looks the best bet.
