Searchlight struggled to go the early pace at 5f and could thrive over 6f for his new trainer.
Searchlight put in an eye-catching performance on his debut for Jim Boyle and he should run a big race in the 4.10 Kempton.
After a slow start, he struggled to go the early pace over 5f at Kempton but soon warmed to the task by running the fastest closing sectional of the race to finish sixth.
Having previously done all his winning at the minimum trip, it was surprising he struggled for pace but perhaps his new trainer has been training him with tonight’s 6f in mind.
Searchlight clocked an impressive sectional adjusted speed rating of 83, which should put him in the mix for a class 4 handicap at 8/1 (Bet365).
