Southwell Tips: Al Khan
Will need a career best to win this but ran a rapid 21.8s closing sectional at Lingfield earning an adjusted speed rating of 94.
Al Khan is 5lbs above his highest winning mark but the way he shaped at Lingfield suggests he is capable of running a career best.
Last time out from a wide draw he got too far behind in a steadily run race (105.7% finishing speed). Despite the race not going to plan he clocked a rapid closing sectional of 21.8s, the fastest in the race earning him an adjusted speed rating of 94.
The 7-year-old has been around the block during his career but he’s found a good home with Kevin Ryan and it is interesting that he is brought back to Southwell, where he is a previous course and distance winner. At 11/1 (Bet365) he is a good bet.
