Smooth As Silken Express

Steps down in grade after winning a hot handicap at Southwell and found a soft race.

The 3.25 Wolverhampton isn’t the strongest class 3 handicap you’ll ever see.

The three horses at the bottom of the handicap will need to improve significantly on what they’ve achieved to date. Whereas those at the top like Jiroft and Swiss Cross have question marks over their form.

That leaves Silken Express as the horse to beat and she has plenty in her favour. She won a strong class 2 handicap at Southwell 11 days ago but she’s shown versatility on all-weather tracks having run well at Wolverhampton and Kempton in the past.

She runs off her highest ever mark but she is lightly raced, seems to be improving, and connections have found her a soft race.
