Shaw thing at Wolverhampton
The Derek Shaw horses are slowly coming back to form and this runner looks ready to strike.
The 14.10 at Wolverhampton is a straight forward race. The Derek Shaw yard are coming back to form and Steel City Boy advertised his well being with a second place at Kempton. He reopposes the winner today but is much better treated than Bluebok.
Kempton has a sharp five furlong all weather track which places very little importance on stamina unless the race is run at a furious pace. That didn’t happen, so a switch to the more galloping Wolverhampton track favours Steel City Boy. Being drawn in stall five is perfect with all the inside, this should allow him to get a perfect race position going round the bend.
Off a career low mark, he won’t have many better opportunities to regain the winning thread than today.
