Sandown Tips: Swendab

Ran out of gas in the last 50yards at Bath but a drop down in trip will solve that problem.

The 2.50 Sandown might be a class 5 (0-75) handicap in name but over half the field would qualify for a 0-65 race, as six runners are at least 10lbs below the handicap threshold.

This is a weak race for the grade and one Swendab must exploit. He looked the winner of his last race only for stamina to give way in the last 50 yards. That was over Bath’s unique distance of 5f161y whereas all his wins have come at 5 furlongs.

The 161yards he saves at Sandown today should make the difference between winning and losing. He’s run a series of good races and faced with his easiest task of the season he should win at 9/4 (William Hill).
