Saint Pois In Last Chance Saloon

Kempton: Saint Pois In Last Chance Saloon

Saint Pois is yet to recapture his French form but has shown glimpses of ability, is well drawn and drops down in grade.

Saint Pois has failed to live up to the form he showed in France (3-time winner on the all-weather) but has a chance to break his duck in the UK by winning the 8.15 Kempton.

Connections would have been heartened by his return from a 3-month break when only beaten 0.75 lengths by the progressive Gentlemen. It was a fine performance and one that earned him a sectional adjusted speed rating of 78.

Unfortunately, he was unable to back it up when beaten 3.5 lengths at Kempton, despite being the well-fancied favourite. It’s hard to excuse that performance but he did stumble leaving the gates.

Last time out he was a never nearer fifth over an inadequate 5f at Chelmsford but ran ok under the circumstances.

This evening he returns to a more suitable 6f and has the benefit of racing from stall 1. Down in grade, he is better than a 20/1 (Bet365) chance.
