The 7-year-old had been running well over course and distance until connections tried something new. He resented the combination of eye-shield and blinkers and also found 6f around Lingfield too sharp.
Ron Harris has gone back to basics, running him over his best trip of 7f in his preferred headgear combination of hood and check-pieces.
The reason he has not won this winter is more down to luck. He’s either found himself too far back during his races or lacked a strong pace to aim at - often a combination of the two.
