Pour Moi Joint Favourite For Arc
The English Derby winner has been installed as 5/1 joint favourite for the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe.
It might be considered the height of bad manners to arrive late and spoil the Queen’s party. However, on Derby day they can be forgiven as Pour Moi and jockey Mickael Barzalona treated viewers to a thrilling finale.
Held up at the back of the field, the Andre Fabre colt showed a scintillating turn of foot to reel in Carlton House and then Treasure Beach by a head. After a summer of rest, Pour Moi will be targeted for the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe in October for which he is a 5/1 shot.
Sharing favouritism is 2010 Derby winner Workforce and Aiden O’Brien’s Australian import So You Think. With four months to go anything could happen but the flat season is shaping up to be one of the best in years.
