Newmarket Races Tips: Parc De Launay

Two-year-olds have an excellent record in this race and he is the best of the bunch.

The 4.45 at Newmarket is a sprint open to horses aged two and three. It is generally a race where the two-year-olds dominate. In eight of the last nine years, the younger contenders have prevailed. With a generous weight for age allowance, I cannot see the trend changing.

After a 50-day absence, Parc de Launay put in an excellent display to finish fifth in a competitive nursery at York. Travelling well for a long way, he perhaps lacked race sharpness as he was overtaken for the place money. In the end he was only beaten two lengths and did not have the clearest of passages either. He looks the best the two-year-old in the race and should be much better for that recent outing.
