Ascot Tips: Von Blucher
Much improved on fast ground at Newmarket last time and might fulfil the promise he showed on the all-weather.
At the start of the year I had Von Blucher pegged as one of the bets handicapped horses in training and he finally showed his true worth with a win at Newmarket.
He’s gone up 7lbs as a result of that win but the time of the race was good and there is more to come.
That was his first run in almost 3 months and this was a horse I rated in the 100s after his win over Ennaadd in October.
Ryan Moore is a positive jockey booking given his 32% strike-rate (9-28) for John Gosden and the quick summer ground is another positive.
Pirouette is a potential danger off her featherweight but Von Blucher has Group-class pretentions and he should be winning this race.
