Returns to optimal trip after being badly treated in a 6f claimer last time

4.30 Lingfield: Spirit Of Zebedee
Only just does enough but has won twice this season with some good sectionals and overall times to his name. Up in grade but capable.

7.15 Newcastle: Foolaad
Runs the track well and winner last time out. Travelled strongly despite this fierce gallop; the sign of a good horse.

8.45 Newcastle: Swirral Edge
Looked a sprinter of potential last season, winning in a higher grade. Back after a break but well handicapped.

1.30 Cheltenham: Messire Des Obeaux
Narrow second last time out but trainer left some work to do with him and prefers a stiffer track. Underrated Grade 1 winner.

2.10 Cheltenham: Might Bite
Was about to run a massive speed figure at Kempton when falling at the final fence when well clear.

2.50 Cheltenham: Automated
Less fancied of the Gordon Elliott runners but impressive winner last time out (travelled strongly) and flat form best on quicker ground.

5.30 Cheltenham: Someday
Beat fancied Mullins runner last time (pair well clear) and also ran well in Punchestown Festival Bumper last year.

Thu 19 January
2.00 Southwell: Sophisticated Heir
Running consistently well on Tapeta but unexposed on the Fibresand. Showed bright pace on only Southwell start, which came over 8f. Reverts to 6f.

5.20 Chelmsford: New Rich
Second behind progressive winner last time but beat everything else fair and square. In-form and previous course and distance winner.

5.50 Chelmsford: Divine Call
Won earlier in autumn and been consistent since. Deep closing style often catches the eye but has speed ratings to back up good visual impression.

7.00 Chelmsford: Serenade The Stars
Gamble failed by a short-head on handicap debut but clearly handicapped to win at this level.

2.40 Kempton: Calypso Choir
Has the early pace to overcome tricky draw. Beaten a head in a higher grade over course and distance three starts back.

3.10 Kempton: Gallifrey
Expensive 170,000 guineas yearling. Bumped into an impressive Gosden horse last time but biggest rival now a non-runner. Should go one better.

4.10 Kempton: Suspect Package
James Fanshawe impressive 20% strike rate on all-weather. Suspect Package makes handicap debut and well treated off 73 judged on fast closing sectional last time out.

4.40 Kempton: Debonaire David
Clear second best behind Dazacam last time, who has won his next two starts. Form looks strong and good on the clock too.

12.35 Lingfield: Brasted
Has plenty of early pace and used up to much petrol when last seen at track in September. Drops down in trip and more likely to dominate weaker field.

3.35 Lingfield: Majestic Myles
Tumbled down the weights and will eventually find a level where he can win again. Has shown signs he still retains ability, with best recent performances coming on the all-weather.

3.45 Kempton: Saluti
Hampered when looking the winner last time. Pulled 7 lengths clear of third horse and can make amends.

4.15 Kempton: Sparkle
Finished third in an above average nursery, earning a sectional adjusted speed rating in the top quartile at this grade.

450 Newcastle: Hot Stuff
Long standing maiden but runner-up four times in six starts on the all-weather and very moderate opposition.

635 Dundalk: Head Space
David Evans makes the trip across the Irish Sea in search of a weak race for his well handicapped sprinter

650 Newcastle: Rock Warber
Has won in the grade before and be competitive if breaking on terms.

720 Newcastle: Meandmyshadow
Unpenalised winner after success over course and distance seven days ago.
