Windsor Tip: Bunbury

Windsor Tip: Bunbury

As an older horse, he carried top-weight in maidens but ran with credit and should make a good handicapper.

Bunbury started his career late, first making it to a racetrack as a 4-year-old back in February. As a result he’s been dragging 10st around in maidens, giving lumps of weight away to younger horses but still performing with credit.

He makes his handicap debut in the 7.50 Windsor and is potentially thrown in off a mark of 74.

He first caught the eye on debut, when setting an unsustainably strong gallop at Kempton but wasn’t beaten far under the circumstances. He backed that run up with two good performances at Windsor, particularly his most recent where he was poorly positioned in a slowly run race but clocked the fastest closing sectional. His earned an adjusted speed rating of 76, higher than his current mark.

Shane Kelly can continue the fine relationship with Richard Hughes, which is yielding a 20% strike-rate. They can bag another winner at 7/4 (William Hill).
