Lingfield Tips: Fresles

Showed some smart form in France before the ground went against her. Trainer won’t have made the trip on a whim.

The 2.00 Lingfield is a rare Listed sprint on the all-weather but I can’t help feel disappointed when looking through the field.

Apart from Intransigent (who is better over 7f) there isn’t what I’d call an ‘all-weather specialist’ in the line-up and we could witness a shock.

Fresles makes the journey over from France and dismissed by the market she rates as an excellent bet.

Mme Pia Brandt doesn’t have many runners in the UK but she did get L’Amour De Ma Vie to place at Royal Ascot at a big price, so she doesn’t often waste the journey.

Fresles looked a smart sprinter when winning at Deauville in July, making all in a rapid 68.84s. She struggled on soft ground later in the summer, understandable because she is all speed.

A sharp 6f on the all-weather should play to her strengths and she is overpriced at 18/1 (Paddy Power)
