Ran well on his first start for James Unett overcoming a pace and draw bias to finish second at Chester. Drops down a grade this afternoon.
There is some very ordinary fare on offer to start the month but Smokethatthunders is slightly overpriced in the 5.40 Leicester.
He ran well on his first start for James Unett, dead-heating for second place, five lengths behind the winner in a class 4 handicap at Chester.
From a moderate draw he was held-up in the rear, a bad place to be at Chester especially when the pace isn’t strong.
The joint-second and fourth place horses also raced further back than ideal and both have come out and run well since. Ginzan finishing third in a class 4 handicap and Cruise Tothelimit finishing third in a class 3 contest.
Smokethatthunders drops down a grade this afternoon and runs in class 5 handicap making him an enticing prospect at 6/1 (Bet365).
